HAPPY BIRTHDAY YUGENE!!!!

Evgenia Yugene Nazarova
Hello folks!
Today my friend and a very talented russian designer Evgenia Yugene Nazarova is celebrating her birthday. I know her for a long time and very proud to have amazing clothes that were created by her. You also can rent some clothes if you need to go out or have a party and need a special dress for it or you have a photoshoot (as me when I was participating in a beauty contest). Last few years she introduces hat collections - very unique and stunning. Here are few links about her hat collections (sorry that the links on russian but you can see the hats):

I'm also very proud that once I was a part of her hat design - I made felted pancakes that later became a gorgeous hat - you can see a part of the process and the result on the pictures.

Winter&Valenki

Hello folks!

Finally we have winter :) with blue sky, sun and cold weather. This morning it was -25. Yesterday I visited a friend of mine and noticed that she bought nice felted boots from Adidas (we call them 'valenki'). Boots are warm, stylish and she is very pleаsed with them. But as I'm crazy about handmade I found few handmade felted boots. Yes, they will cost probably more but you'll get something unique and made with love.

Monday Moodboard "Romantic getaway in Paris"

Hello folks!
There are few romantic places in this world - some of them are cities and some of them are near sea/ocean shore. One place that became more romantic recently for me is Istanbul but today's moodboard is about Paris.
I've never been to Paris but looks like I have a chance to vivist this beautiful city pretty soon and it'll be very very very very romantic!

Thinking about Summer

Hello folks!
It's still winter but my mind is occupied by Summer already! :) And I've started to plan where I'm going to celebrate my birthday this year. It'll be somewhere where is a lot of sunshine, tasty food and an absolutely romantic atmosphere I'm going to share with someone special ;) Not going to call the place right now so stay tuned ;)
And as I am a girl I'm thinking about what to wear )))) Honestly I don't know this summer trends so suggestions are welcome but I choose few lovely dresses from Etsy that are gorgeous and I think fashion is more about your own style and mood.

Monday Moodboard "Happy Old New Year!"

Hello folks!
For the whole world today is an ordinary Monday but for Russia it's a day when we celebrate Old New Year! :)
This tradition came from old times when instead of Julian calendar countries started to use Gregorian calendar. The calendar was a refinement in 1582 to the Julian calendar amounting to a 0.002% correction in the length of the year. The motivation for the reform was to bring the date for the celebration of Easter to the time of the year in which the First Council of Nicaea had agreed upon in 325. Because the celebration of Easter was tied to the spring equinox, the Roman Catholic Church considered this steady drift in the date of Easter undesirable. The reform was adopted initially by the Catholic countries of Europe. Protestants and Eastern Ortodox countries continued to use the traditional Julian calendar and adopted the Gregorian reform after a time, for the sake of convenience in international trade. The last European country to adopt the reform was Greece, in 1923.
In Russia the Gregorian calendar was accepted after the October Revolution (so named because it took place in October 1917 in the Julian calendar). On 24 January 1918 the Council of People's Commissars issued a Decree that Wednesday, 31 January 1918, was to be followed by Thursday, 14 February 1918, thus dropping 13 days from the calendar.
And now we have this Old New Year we celebrate calmer than the original New Year :)

Yorkshire Tea Loaf

Hello folks!
It's still holidays here in Russia and as we have some free time I decided to cook a nice cake - Yorkshire tea loaf. But I have to confess - I changed the original recipe a bit so here you'll see my version :)
And please read carefully as you need to prepare fruits a night before you'll cook the cake!

300 ml very strong tea Earl Greay (as I'm not in England and not able to get Yorkshire tea) - I used 5 tea spoons on 300 ml water.
200 gr dry Cornelian cherries (instead of dry cherries)
250 gr dry raisins
50 ml single malt whisky
200 gr brown sugar
225 gr flour
100 gr walnuts (there are no walnuts in the original recipe)
1 tea spoon baking powder
1 tea spoon ixed spices (cloves, anise, cardamon, nutmeg, allspice tree, cinnamon)
2 eggs

1. Make a very strong tea, filter and pour hot tea into raisins and cornekian cherries (that liquid completely covered dried fruits), in 15 minutes to add wisky, mix and leave for the night.

2. In the morning add sugar, walnuts, eggs into dried fruits (not to merge not absorbed tea) and mix.

  3. Mix a flour with a baking powder, then mix with spices. Add into a bowl with dried fruits and mix properly. It should be stiff viscous paste. Then pour out dough in a form and bake about an hour at a temperature of 160 C. Get from an oven, let to cool and take out from a form.
